Conversation with my Mommy...
Mom---I went to Sister Frasier's get a way house last weekend
GloZell--Where is it?Mom--- In Orlando...a Time Share.
GloZell---Sis. Frasier lives in Orlando...Why have a Time Share in the same town you live in...What is she getting away from?... She lives by herself?
Mom-- Are you going to let me tell you this story or not...(go on)...Sis. Frasier.. her daughter, Ms. Bynum and I went..to the vacation house.
Mom---Sis. Frasier's daughter just got back from the war...her hair is cut short...and has metal going through her lip. GloZell--And?
Mom--She looks like a boy!... she use to be so pretty...Lord have mercy!
GloZell--A short hair cut and and pierced lip might be a big deal in Mayberry Orlando but...it's no big deal.
Mom---She had real hair!....long hair ...now she look like a boy... she is messed up.
GloZell---Wait ...Tonya Frasier is out of college? Mom---That's what I'm trying to tell you! She left college...joined the Army with some "friends"...volunteered for the war...now she is messed up! GloZell---If she left college to go to war...sounds like she was already messed up.
Mom--She came back... (whispering) gay...the war made her gay...she cut her hair...and looks like a boy!
GloZell--She probably was gay already.. if she is...you can't only go by a hair cut...the Army dosn't make you gay...it's the NAVY...
Mom--In the middle of the night...we heard..DUCK...DUCK...Sis. Frasier turned on the lights and the poor child was crawling on her belly... then ran out the door yelling! Duck Duck...
GloZell-- Goose!...just kidding...Wow...the war did mess her up...poor Tonya..
MOM--- YES! Like-da scared me to death! Now do you understand?...She think she is back at war...and cut her hair!...I left right then. ..I didn't want her to think I was the enemy.
Ms. Bynum called and told me they found her by a tree. Then Sis. Frasier and Tonya fought light cats and dogs the rest of the weekend.
GloZell---They probably fought all the time....Tonya might have joined the Army to make her Mom mad...or just to do what she wanted to do.
Mom--She didn't have to cut her hair!...I just thank the Lord..My children are normal...Thank you Lord..
GloZell (here it comes)
Mom---Lord...Lord...I thank ya that my children didn't run to the Army and come back looking like boys...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LORD...HALLILUIAH...(clap..clap..clap) ...THANK YOU LORD! HALLELUJAH!....OH THE DEVIL IS BUSY...BUT HE DON'T HAVE MY CHILDREEEEEEEEEEEEEEN...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!GloZell-- Goose!...just kidding...Wow...the war did mess her up...poor Tonya..

I am glad we both have the same sense of humor. I never take anything in this blog offensively. In fact, anyone that does should check into a mental institution.
So, you are looking for a cheap ticket to Florida. Priceline is fine, and so is travelocity.com. JetBlue might be cheap. The longer you wait the more expensive it will get. DON'T TRAVEL STANDBY AROUND THE HOLIDAY TIMES! Maybe even Airtran or Southwest could be cheap airlines to check out too. If I could get you free tickets I would, but my world is only international.
And yes, working at General Hospital is fine during the strike. Those shows are already written, and now they're filming. It's more than a lot of people get to do when they get to Hollywood. If you have other things to do than go to the show, then that's fine. But I was just thinking you would miss the last year, and be kinda sad about it. I don't if will ever get to go to the show when I get out to Burbank, but it's going to be no fun in line without you.
At least you didn't say no regarding the book.....yet.
Hi Glo, I think you should take this time to take a nice trip. This way, you come back and the strike will be over (hopefully) and you will have a new perspective on life, and what is important to you.
I personally think you should finish out Jay's year - you've come this far!
As I said before, this experience has not been lost. You may not have gotten what you wanted, but there is somethihg else you will get. It just has not been revealed to you yet. I don't know how it will, but I am sure of it.
I see you doing something in the entertainment field and somehow bumping into Jay at a function. He will remember you! And that may lead to other things!!
I wish you and boyfriend a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! You two make a very nice looking couple. He seems very supportive and that is good. You are very lucky to have a man like that.
Blessings of the season, I will look forward to hearing of your adventures in the near future!!
Best regards,
Observer
ahahaha!! This was another gem. Your mom sounds like people in my family!!! Straight up! I know that language! *clap clap* lol
It just seems...not right, to come this far and not see the end of the show will bring. In the spirit of this blog, join with me and sing: "We've Come This Far By Faith...." *clap clap* Or how about, "I Don't Feel Know Ways Tiiiiiiired!" *clap clap*
You are a choir director, so I figured you know these:)
Hope your weekend was a fun one. Look forward to more blogs.
lol sorry for the typos...it's been a lo-o-ng Saturday. Too much running around and whatnot.
If you want cheap tickets to Florida, check out Kayak.com and sidestep.com.
Glo, I think you need to go back to the Tonight Show until you hit 300 tapings and then move on to bigger and better things.
I still picture you, me and your mom hanging out in the pool. That was so much fun!
Dan!
Thank you...No one...No one should take anything in this blog offensively! Thank you for saying that...
I always wait to the last minute...There is a part of me that dosn't want to go...Everyone asks How's Jay doing?...(people swear they see me on the show...)
My Grandmother is 95...and I have to see her...
I will take a tour of G.H....(Jay's not there...maybe he will go to ABC after the year is up)
What would this book be about...husband leaving...The comedy clubs...Tonight Show...the Blog...Strike...family? All of the above?...
I am going to look for tickets after I respond to these nice comments...Thanks for the Standy Tip because so many people said..." You can alway's do Stand by...I knew you would know the deal...I would miss the Line...That's my favorite part...and when Jay come out in his suit...it's like" I'M AT THE TONIGHT SHOW...I'M REALLY HERE!...every single time...I never get tired of that...I wonder if the weave I tied around my seat is still there?
I'm so ghetto...I crack myself up!
Thanks for the info!
GloZell
Observer,
I was thinking about you! Becuase it seems like you are in the Know!...I know you agreed that I should do other things...so it's great that you think that I could/should still do the show..also...Maybe not everyday...or not be a slave to it as much as I was...
There are so many funny/strange things that happen in the line...audence members bring videos..and that's fine...but when NEWS people tape...they get kicked off...I think the inside would/should see the lady with the Jay Cake...or the guy who plays the spoons...Wolfman's Natalie..The Musical...
But I don't know If I tape it and somehow get it on a blog... if that would be like the NEWS people who tape and get kicked off NBC property...
You have such a great personality...I knew there had to be people like you in the Biz!...(well you know a lot about the Biz)
I am now going to try to find a roundtrip ticket to Florida that's under 400 dollars...
Wait till I blog about my mother's house...she still has my father's legs(artificial)...and use them as plant holders...
The shag carpet... 8 Tracks Hot...Florida..Mess...
Thanks Observer..I feel good about going to the show! (I guess they will let me in...I could sit way in the back or something)
Boyfriend...I told my mother he was light skin...ha ha ha.
Happy Christmas!
GloZell

You had me on the floor...You know about the Hymns...My Goodness...We've come this far by faith...I don't feel No Way's Tired!...Oh you know...That old school Hymns that last forever then..start up again...I'm starving...and announcements are just as long as the Sermon!
Don't let me get started...I will be taking pictures at MOUNT OLIVE AFRICAN METHODIST CHURCH..IN ORLANDO FLORIDA!...
I refuse to ware a big ole' hat with a feather on it...REFUSE!...I was the rebel of the church...but I got away with it becuase they needed me to play or sing... I do love the food...
My mother is dramatic...The only crazy thing I did at University Of Florida was getting by belly button pierced...
She fell on the floor and rolled around screaming" They got to my baby! Help me Lord!(for hours!)...The funny thing is...my mother...never reads the Bible...goes to sleep EVERY service...her prayer group...play's Bid WiZ...You will see...I will take pictures of it all...
Thanks Melinda,
PS I know you are not appologizing to ME for Typos?
GloZell
Fightn' mad Mary,
We had a great time...your maid was like" What the?...I mean..Que de?...(you didn't know I was biladeral...ha ha)

he still askes me.."Do you think I'll get paid for that? Should I contact SAG? Ask Jay if they are going to send me a check...
I would have loved to be in the background of anything with the Tonight Show...for free!...Oh well...I'm over all of that...
My mother...wait till I blog in Florida...all the things I was embarrased about growing up...You will see...I'm the normal one...
If I put up pictures of mom's house...Home Make Over...would feel sorry for us...(pack rats)

I'm afraid that I will mess something up somehow...endup getting a ticket to Iran or something...
Hey Glo, This was just on CNN.com -
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" will return with all-new episodes on January 2, according to a statement from NBC. The shows had been in reruns for two months because of the Writers Guild of America strike.
"During the 1988 writers strike, Johnny Carson reluctantly returned to 'The Tonight Show' without his writers after two months," said NBC's Executive Vice President for Late Night & Primetime Series, Rick Ludwin, in the statement. "Both Jay and Conan have supported their writers during the first two months of this WGA strike and will continue to support them. However, there are hundreds of people who will be able to return to work as a result of Jay's and Conan's decision."
Both Leno and O'Brien have been paying staffers' salaries since early December, following in the footsteps of David Letterman, who has paid the employees of his "Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" since the strike began November 5. Letterman's production company owns both his and Ferguson's shows.
Shoot, FMM beat me to the punch! lol So, there you have it! Leno & Conan will be back in the game! I hope you will too, Glo!
You know, once I read that the Writer’s Guild was talking to independently owned production companies, and one of them
included Letterman’s company, I figured it was just a matter of time before Leno announced he was going back.
I just couldn’t see NBC or Leno wanting to take the chance in having Letterman be the only show without repeats. Who is to say that that audience would return to Jay? They could get used to Letterman and stay with him.
If I were Jay or his producers, at this point, I would start the show featuring Jay’s stand up act!! He should write his own jokes
like he does on the road, and they could make a part of the stage look like a little night club or comedy club. Because Letterman will be starting his show with his writers, most likely but Jay won't. If this comedy routine works, Jay would look that much more talented having written all his own material. He can spotlight his comedic chops. I’m interesting in reading your ideas and thought, Glo! This is good stuff!
Hey Fight'n mad Mary of FMM
Thanks I read this after I put up Monday's blog! This is...Great?
Jay has to do something new now! A bit about Jay at the unemployment line....for the last month...
Interesting...that is why he has been happier!
Thanks
GloZell
Melinda,
Yeper...Late Night is coming back!
This is for sure for sure now that FMM and you have confirmed it!
Thanks!
GloZell
I still think it's funny that you think I'm someone on the "inside"!
I am not, just a loyal reader of your blog.
I want you to get your trip to Florida so you can visit your dad's leg (how funny) and come back with more stories to entertain us with!
Please finish up with Jay - you have to be our eyes and ears. And you owe him, as you are his loyal fan. I'm sure he understands everyone gets heated during tough times - he forgives you!! Whatever was said is in the past - Jay is such a cool guy. He was in a rough spot, so I'm sure he understands your frustations as well.
Take care -
Observer
